What a wonderful celebration Easter was at St Mary’s.  The flowers made church look wonderful, the cross was transformed from the cross of shame to the cross of glory.  So quickly, as the flowers were placed on it the change took place.  The Easter message must surely be about the possibility of change happening.

Think for a moment about the disciples and the way their life was changed by the vision of the risen Lord.  Mary was in deep grief until she realised the gardener was indeed Jesus himself.  Poor Thomas he found it so difficult to believe until he saw Jesus face to face.  His life was changed.  Peter who just at the moment Jesus most needed help had denied knowing his friend yet when he too met the risen Lord his life was changed from despair to hope.  Then the two disciples on the road to Emmaus on recognising the risen Lord were filled with understanding and joy.

Change comes into people’s lives when they begin to recognise the importance of Jesus in their life.  Change comes too when we begin to talk about what Jesus means to you.  Try reading the book of Acts; it is no mistake that in the weeks after Easter Sunday we read parts of the book on Sundays.  In Acts we read of the disciples, the followers of Jesus who were now changed men and women, given power through the Holy Spirit going out and talking about Jesus.  The important thing is, the church grew, well it must have grown because we are here today.  The church grew because the disciples who were changed men, talked about Jesus.

What would you tell someone about Jesus?  How has he changed your life?

Think about it.
